How do you adjust the fit of the front doors?

As the title says, is it possible to adjust the front doors so that they fit perfectly? Not talking about adjusting the striker bolt, but rather adjusting the hinges of the doors. One of the doors on my car seems to have sagged a little bit so that when you close it, the trailing edge of the door doesn't quite clear the B-pillar properly. Would new door pins fix this, or is there another trick?

Work out how much sag, take off door, use sledge hammer to adjust it on the body, if the weld cracks than get out your mig,

hold the door and bend it back up

hehe Munro- That would go around my waist and help my bulge, and prob hold a pair of sledgehammers at the same time Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Open the door, stick a jack under the end, proceed to jack until you achieve required fit, works every time (use something to spread the load of the top of the jack so as to not root your door underskin). If you've seen how they actually adjust doors when the cars are rolling off the production line this method will not seem overly dramatic.

Ah I was wondering about that re factory, mmm might seem rough and ready to use a jack but hey the hinge can take it, Usually find a sledgehammer very satisfying with PC's Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Its possible that one of the pins/hinges is damaged or bent. I had this problem. It is still yet to be fixed. With the door off you can clearly see one part of the hinge is bent. I have tried bending this back, but it is bloody strong. My panel beater is going to heat it up a little to bend it. Obviously if you have paint on your car you can't really do this! Not an issue for me at the moment! Not sure I would really want to use the jacking method as mentioned above tho...

If you look at ur door hindges you will see they arent adjustable. That simple. So jacking method would work. Personaly ive seen panel beater's simply grab the base of the door and yank it up wards. Then shut the door and see how it sits.

heheehhee this reminded me of the apprentice at toyota which had a brand spanking new landcruiser jacked up on the drivers door n says " why aint it adjusting? " and the boss turns around and says " did u crack teh nuts you idiot? " ....... the apprentice nearly **** lol literely the 4wd was on a 45 degree angle on one side lmao

im a panel beater and we like already said simply lift the door with all ya got with it just open and if that dosent get then there is a bar with a flat plate on it that sits on the body striker and has a pin that picks up on the door lach and simply lift it with the bar and thats how holden did it as i know of one or 2 that came from holden back in the day in panel shops i have worked in but every panel shop has one and it gets used a bit so thay will know were it is take the car down and see if u could use it for a sec but remember to move the striker acordingly
