Hey fellas i have a carby 5ltr that i want to run back on LPG. I bought the car with duel fuel, done some mods to suit petrol and after realising i pretty much need a BP tanker following me around i need LPG to cut some running $$$. What i done a while back was take all the LPG related gear out from under the bonnet but left the tank, lines and pet/LPG switch in the car. Luckily i kept the mixer and converter with all the little bits involved. I dont want max power, just good driveabilty so the original Impco 300A set up is being used. i have put the mixer back on, as well as the gas lock off and converter back in. The only thing i need to do now is know how to do the wiring. Included in the set up is a little black solenoid? (which has 3 terminals, pulse - earth and power), the solenoid on the gas lock off, another seperate solenoid on its own and also a small plastic solenoid? with 3 spouts coming from it (with an earth and power terminal). Can some one give me a rundown how to wire everything back up? Any help would be much appreciated cheers

Without actually looking at it, the little black solenoid (which has 3 terminals, pulse - earth and power) wires up to the coil, earth and ign and outputs to the solenoid on the gas lock off. The other seperate solenoid on its own and the small plastic solenoid with 3 spouts coming from it (with an earth and power terminal) is the petrol lockoff. These are wired in conjunction with the 3 position switch in the cabin for petrol off and lpg. I would recommend taking it to a pro if you have ANY doubt as to how to hook this up.

I'm pretty sure i can knock this off i just need the proper info to do it, surely like any thing once its in your head it should be easy. I just know if i take it to an LPG shop they'd probably want big dollars just to wire a couple of things up. Just to verify, so you say the saftey switch needs earth, wire from positive side of coil to recieve a signal and 12V power supply. So that would mean the same power feeding the safety switch would run to the positive on the lock off solenoid, then you would run a wire for earth on the lock off solenoid? As for the solenoid, i just had a proper look and noticed its actually in a brass surrounding with a spout on the bottom and a fitting on the top that looks like something needs to be screwed in. any idea what this is for and where exactly should the wiring go for both this solenoid and the solenoid with the spouts? thanks for the help so far

Pics say 1000 words, need to see what one is dealing with.

had a chat to an LPG bloke, i figured out what the 3 spout solenoid is for and how to hook it up, found out that the solenoid with the brass surround and spout is, something to do with it being a primer (had a crack down the solenoid so might as well get another one) so thats the majority out the way. Sorry i cant provide pics since my digital cameras away at the docs, and my phone to computer cable has gone astray. All i need to know is how to wire up the safety switch (with the 12V, pulse and valve terminals) with the gas lock off (which is connected to the line from the gas tank, has + and - termianl) any idea how i can do this? Like i assumed to do the wiring, "change the rest of the wiring because it might be old and dangerous", fit the primer and change the LPG/petrol switch the bloke wants 200 bucks so i figured once again its a DIY job.
