Well after three months off the road my BT1 finally came to life again early this afternoon
The main problem that originally put the car off the road was a blown turbo, being a uni student i didnt have the money to go all out for a GT35/40 so i decided to get the original T3 hiflowed and rebuilt.
While MTQ was taking care of that i decided to upgrade the fuel system with a bosch 044 pump, 1lt surge tank and aeromotive pressure regulator. This was where some problems developed; the return line on the fuel tank cracked and so that had to be replaced aswell, differing barb sizes on the new fuel system and crummy turbo water lines also slowed me down etc.
anyway shes back on the road and none to soon, heres some pictures i took today (didnt get time to wash her so there not the best):
let us know what you think peoples.

yeah 9 inch semi locker, button clutch and manual are fun most of the time, try parrallel parking that sh!t though!
yeah the rims are no good, were on the car when i brought it, but i dont have the money to get anything better at the moment.
got big plans - just need the money.

i knew this was coming, thats why i havent put it up till now.
i brought the car pretty much (externally) like you see it, id love to have a stock BT1 but everything from the wiring loom, diff to the brakes would have to be changed.
this car has been around for a long time apparently, being built-up sometime in the early to late 90's, so i thought id return her to a modified glory instead of the stock look which almost every BT1 today possesses.
dont worry mR_Sam there still plenty of standard BT1's out there, not many like this though.
anyway does anyone know the history on this car? used to wear plates 'dream on' in some six letter configuration, any info would be much appreciated as the guy i brought it from got it from a car yard.

yeah man the extra bits of walky kit are on the list but as a uni student i got little to no funds, so it takes a while.
i heard (not a repubital sorce though) the plates were DREMON, although that was supposedly a while ago, this cars had a pretty bad life by the looks of it so its probabily changed owners more than a dozen times, any previous knowledge would be great as id like to know the story of my car.
yeah there walky door trims alright, retrimed walky front seats and rear buckets to match too (aerotech)

LOL.. I think its ok but it needs rims, grey dash and lower sideskirts, not a bad effort for the time frame.
it looks very familar mate mmmmmm, im just a bit rusty il have to scan in my memory an i might come up with an asnwer. An yea like what boyracer said a grey dash will make it look alot better inside an bottom skirts.
yeah the skirts and front lip are definatly on the to do list, and like you said i was thinking about a grey dash although ill go for a colour a couple a shades darken than the original grey as i dont think that would suit.
oohhh also HSV VY R8's are on the list too.
Nice looking vl mate, must have felt good driving her again after all that time. Keep the kit for sure, ditch the rims like you've planned and drop the ride height. Will look mint...Oh and fill that front bar with an intercooler...just for sex appeal.

**** the haters, that is bloody awesome! I love it mate!
But I do agree about the interior, change the dash for a gray one, those door trims but don't hold me to it but they look identical to the HDT VL Group 3 ones - if it's them theyre worth big $$$

yeah the dash will be getting smoothed to match the speaker covers and then sprayed grey, just a matter of money.
