are you sure? as they have diferent part numbers i believe.

I believe so, as they're never inlcuded in conversion kits. And no one ever mentions starter motors when people ask about RB30 transmission conversions. Although, I'd be interested to know for sure, and also in regards to MX7 starter motors.

the turbo manual starter is different but all the others are the same. do a search, it's been covered before a few times.

as far as i know they are different, the starter motor on the manual has thread in one of the holes and not in the auto one

Im pretty sure they'd be different as the flywheels are different shaped? Not 100% sure but i'd just assume they would be different.

NA auto, turbo auto and NA manual are the same. Manual turbo (MX7) are not, but can be moded easily to fit with spacers and another thing.

I went through 3 different starter motors for my VL (found out the hardway that they are different) 1 was for Auto, the original one had some sort of Earth return terminal on it and the other one that is currently in only requires the one wire to it. I'm pretty sure it was just an Earth or something, still works all fine, I just have a spare wire dangling around there doing nothing now.
