What do you prefer and why? Im all for sticking with what has been used over the ages, and 1/4 mile drag racing to be measured in MPH! Whats your choice and why?? Cheers

it's "quarter mile", miles are measured in MILES PER HOUR

MPH! That's how it is everywhere and how it always has been. Hopefully it will always remain that way Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

M.P.H has alway's been the standard in Drag Racing. Now everyone that run's at Calder has to rip out their phone after a pass, and do the conversion. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

M.P.H The way its always been measured and the way a 1/4 mile should be measured.

'Drag your mates down the 402 metre track!'... no... 'Drag your mates down the quarter!' yes.

MPH. Something about "1/4 KM" sounds f***ing stupid.

MPH is nationally recognised. But if you have a calculator on your mobile phone, you can do a calculation from MPH to KPH easily. 1 mile = 1.6098 km This means that if you race using 400m as the distance, then you are actually going to be marginally quicker due to 400m not being exactly 1/4 of a mile. Starting to get technical now, but a 1/4 mile is actually 402.45 metres. Refer below; this is data from my G-tech Performance Meter, which at the click of a button can be changed from mph to kph. So if you look at the charts, you will see that the 400m time is marginally quicker than the 1/4mile (402.45m) time. MPH; KPH; Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Should we all ditch kilowatts in favour of going back to using horsepower too?
