Just got my Gt35/40 but i need some fittings, where would be a good place to get some, iv got a braiding line to suit vl t3/t4 but the fitting on the oil feed is much different basicly i need a fitting for water feed return and oil feed and return looking at using a barbed fitting for the water lines which i could attached rubber hosee too, also for the return just need something simluar to a what the standard vl t3 uses this is for a vn v6 but before i got the gt35/40 it was set up with a vl t3 with a t4 from so all the fittings suited the vl t3 so if anyone could tell me what fittings they have used on their vls to fit garrett gt series turbos it would be greatly appreciated also what do they cost thanks, tom

Err...i wouldn't be using barbed fittings and rubber hose at the turbo. The radiant heat will destroy the hose real quick. Get some "bundy" tube made up so that the join to rubber hose is at least 300mm away from the turbo. Easiest way is to use an old coathanger and shape it how you want the pipe bent, then take it to enzed/pirtek and get them to bend the tube and braze a banjo fitting on one end and a barbed fitting on the other. If this is not possible, silicon hose has a higher tolerance to heat and *may* get you out of trouble. The oil feed line is best done in a teflon braided hose. I think there are guys on here who can make them up for you. The oil return may need to be a silicon hose to withstand the heat.

cheers iv got the braided oil feed for it but the fitting on the end suits the t3 so ill have to get a new fitting for the end, the return used to just be a high temp hose(mate got it from his work from the hose/line maker guy) and the water feed returns i just used radiator/transmission hose, trans hose is rated to good pressure and heat resistance and it worked fine with out a problem, just now that all the fittings on the turbo are differnt.

6BOOST does a mint looking kit for these looks an absolute treat, not real cheap but how much value can you put on the insurance of your engines oil system.

I popped down to the local pirtek and had them modify the original oil and water lines. The oil line I used the banjo that attached to the block, had budy tube soldered to that with a loop then in to the turbo. Bundy tube bends around etc quite easily. Cost me ~$45. I grabbed a couple water banjo barbs from mtq; as it turns out bundy tube fits perfectly in to it; solder bundy tube to the banjo's and have a flared compression type fitting join the water line for the one that runs around the back of the head (on the dohc not sure about the sohc) and simply reuse the block banjo for the other solder bundy to that and then run to the other water banjo and solder again. Each line cost ~$45 each. So multi that by 3 gave me $135 for all oil/water lines. + an oil drain from mtq and some suitable hose from pirtek which was another $35. I went with the GT3076r .82 IW; fittings are identical to the GT35r etc Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
