Dont you take ID etc when you hire things out? And vehicle rego? If so I'm pretty sure the police could track him down for you.

Thats what i was thinking, shouldn't you have all their information when they hire things?

Yeah all their information like what ? The address that was on his drivers license i went to this morning, he doesnt live there anymore..... His mobile number that he gave me he switched off, and ive got the police looking for 2 stolen items already.. they really aint interested. Everytime we make a report of something being stolen its always "we'll ring you when we come across it" 9 out of 10 times they never find the equiptment. Police are a waste of time and they hate the Hire Industry because we always bug them about stolen equiptment. We take matters into our own hands now.. Bascially if your drivers lisence is current but has an old address on it and you gave them a fake mobile number u could steal anything from any hire shop daniel Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Surely you can get his new address through the RTA if you have his name and previous address, and license number. Hell that's what the police SHOULD be doing. It can't be that hard to locate the guy if he hasn't gone underground. Hope you have some luck with this, not too much worse than dishonest people.

I've learnt just this week, that the Department of Planning and Infrastructure are useless. They will not give you any information on someone else or any useful information in general. This sounds like a case of bad luck. You did the right things by getting there details and it turned sour. It happens.
