Boss kits, different for Calais?

Is this true? I picked up a momo wheel with boss for my Calais but have had trouble fitting it. Refer to the pic, this is the one fitted to my old VL which was an SL but had a series 2 Calais interior, unsure if steering column was changed as well. The pic shows a nice gap, the one I have now sits flush against the column so rubs when you turn the wheel. Also, the bit that screws to the bottom with the horn ring and plastic bit with the bumps for the indicator cancel was busted, so I took the one off the Calais wheel and tried to fit it, when it was screwed down the plastic ring was all out of shape, should be round but it ended up oval shape. Anyone know what to do? I'm guessing I need a different boss, or is the one I have missing some sort of spacer or something? The car is at my parents for now so no pic of the boss I have now, and can't check for any part numbers, will do that tonight. Edit: Pic wouldn't come up big enough, refer to this post from when I sold the wheel. The gap in the pic is non existent in the current one when fitted. http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=34225

Calais steering columns are no different, all you need is a "VL" boss kit. I would try getting a new boss mate because i've had four different sports steering wheels on VLs and none have ever had that gap!

Thanks. That pic is of my last VL, that's how the wheel was fitted when I bought it, had no drams, although indicators would never cancel. The one I have just fitted sits against the column housing and rubs. I googled yesterday for a boss kit and can't recall where but one site listed them as VB-VL (not Calais), and VK-VL Calais had thier own model boss kit. Also, the spline the wheel sits over, the thread has been mangled at some stage, what's the go with replacing that part, or is it a full column swap? The nut has been 'rethreaded' from when it was fitted to the stuffed threads and does up ok as it is, but I wouldn't mind replacing it if it's an easy job.
