hi guys, i just wanted peoples opinions on converting my vl from rb30 to 304 or 308? ive always been a V8 man and always will be. i love the way the sound, idle and they way they go. so i am thinking of the conversion. here are some of the things i am aware of if changing to a V8. obviously the engine gearbox tail shaft diff k frame radiator wat else? thats all i can think of really. do i need to keep the ecu computer if running a V8? and in the end is it worth converting? the V8 will be on gas asap. hope to hear back from a few people thanks

hey buddy i think you find why no one has answered your thread is there are HEAPS of these exact same threads, so i suggest do a SEARCH and find the information.

I got some parts here for a vl v8, T350 gearbox, gearbox mounts, engine mounts, custom tailshaft. even got a vl v8 shell if your interested which is ready to have a V8 put back in it. No need for ecu as the efi engines use a different one and carbies don't use ecus. If you love a V8 it will be worth it. Nothing beats the sound of a nice big lumpy V8

i've only got my carby 360ci stroker motor, turbo 350 box, custom 3inch tailshaft for sale. I wouldn't suggest you run the std diff unless beefed up.

ah k then fair enough.. well if i plan on going ahead with my plans i wil let you know, but if you have to sell, then sell dont wait for me! im looking for either a vl exec or calais 5ltr for wrecking. that way i can change everything over. can u put a hq 253 in a vl?

dont even waste your time with a 253, they are gutless. I'm guesing you have a 253 and want to put it in, i'm sure they are the same as a 308 block just different internals. So possibly. I have a VL V8 berlina shell for sale, has the larger brakes for the V8 (fronts only as backs are sold), V8 k frame, engine mounts, gearbox mounts, can throw in the radiator. I've just stripped the car. Let me know if you want it just pm me.

just was wondering whether vls are even allowed to be registered wit a 253.. anyway. this vl v8 shell you have.. whats left on it, any pics? i would definetly need the brakes, k frame, engine and tran mounts as well as radiator.. how much you asking? thanks

I very highly doubt you will get it registered with a 253. a std 308 black motor go for a couple of hundred to get you by if need be. i've sent you a pm with everything about the shell and pics.
