thats strange, the sensor wheel is well sealed and if the high voltage side gets wet it wont start, yet yours starts then dies, unusual behaviour... FYI: The ECU turns on the fuel pump relay when you turn on the ignition and if the engine hasnt been started within about 15 secs then the ECU turns off the fuel pump relay - it does this to reduce chance of flooding engine if no spark. So if the ECU thinks it hasnt started then it will turn off the fuel, so say you crank it as soon as you put on ignition then it runs for a few seconds then dies - it sort of matches what the ECU does as a way to stop flooding the engine if it doesnt start first time. ECU needs the dizzy signal to tell it the engine is running along with the change of state of the starter signal - ie. There is a signal from the starter motor to the ECU - this tells the ECU you are actually cranking it and its not a push start - that way the ECU can retard the timing quite a bit especially if the battery is low. This is why, if you try a slow push start on a manual, the normal advance might result in a pop as it tries to go the other way on a bad push start.
