Last week i bought a pioneer car DVD player off a member on this site.
I was told it was a brand new and never used.
I wired it up, and nothing happened. (it wouldnt turn on)
I know i didnt wire it incorrectly cos im automotive engineer with a degree in electronics, so i know what im doing. Also ive fitted multiple dvd players to friends cars, so this is not my first time.
I contacted the seller and told him what was going on.
On monday i took it to pioneer australia (for an unbiased opinion) and was told it wouldnt turn on cos it was fried a long time ago. The unit had cut, soldered and taped wires. Pioneer told me that new units shouldnt have tape, soldier wires and that the wire lengths were way to short for a first time strip.
Despite the fact that i can prove it was not damaged by any fault of my own the seller wont refund my money.
The buyer seems like an honest guy and i will give him the benefit of the doubt that he didnt knowingly sell me a dodgy product.
however i paid for a brand new pioneer dvd player. not a second had fried on.
I dont expect a 30day waranty with a product not bought from the store, but I expect it to work.
wat are your thoughts?
