hey guys. i know this has probably been covered before, but all i could find was auto to manual not the other way around. will be changing my vl turbo to an auto soon, as it's only got an mf5 in it and not sure how long that'll last. so i've decided to go with an auto. i know i need the auto box, tailshaft and ecu. but is there anything else that i need? cheers.

Auto control unit that sits under the dash on the driver's side (NOT the auto ecu), wiring to suit. Radiator that will cool the auto, or a transmission cooler. Auto pedal box, auto shifter, auto shifter trim surround....I'd recommend changing your engine and interior (?) looms, as you're adding things onto it, not taking away from it (like a manual conversion). Does that help?

hey. yeah that helps alot. thanks mate. so it'd be a fair process then. you could leave the manual pedal box in though couldn't you? cheers.

I suppose you could if you wanted to, but you'd have a cramped pedal box due to a useless clutch pedal. But yes, the manual box would function just the same. It'd be a bit of work, mostly because of the auto diagnosis computer under the driver's side dash - that has to be wired in. If you can get a hold of Gregory's manual, that might give you a better idea.

when i was enquiring about a keas box, he sent me this. This was for a full manual trans so thats why theres no ECU or wiring related **** Besides the trans you will need- *auto gearbox crossmember *auto speedo cable *sandwich plate *convertor *auto pedal box *auto tail shaft *auto flywheel *auto starter motor *plate to rivet to transmission tunnel under console *auto cover for console *shifter and linkages

Say if someone had a auto VL, would you be interested in doing a swap in the gearbox/trans.
