The only difference on the manual is that the vacuum switch is mounted on the clutch pedal. Just like it is on the brake pedal of an auto.

i thought it was just the same as the brake pedal. my calais clutch pedal has no cruise trip switch on it - only on the brake pedal, so i couldn't tell you.

According to my wiring diagram there is a electric switch on auto (brake pedal) and electric one on clutch when manual fitted?? So is that manual has electric on both pedals?? Would also like to know exactly what is the FACTORY setup with manual with cruise, electric and the vacuum on both pedals.

just went and had a look at mine... has a vacum line and electric switch on the brake pedal and an electric switch on the clutch pedal weird thing is that the vacum line must be for the brake lights cause the electronic switch is bridged to the switch on the clutch pedal will have a photo up in a minute or two There is the Pic, everyone love my skills in paint? (Stupid paint shop pro playing up so thatll have to do) anyways ive labeled the brake and clutch pedal so there is no confusion seen as its upside down. ok so A and C are both electronice switches (obviously from the wires ). Now wat is happening here is the two wires from C are going onto one plug on the A switch. B is the vacum line that the vac line is coming from now my setup is confusing me at the moment haha cause to me it seems like the vacum line should be the one controlling the cruise and the electric one should be controlling the brake lights (on the break pedal) but it seems like this isnt the case....... i dunno maybe my setup isnt the best to go by lol its been that long since it got done that i dont really remember wats going on hope it helped somehow anyway Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah i thought that the only difference was the vac line was moved from the brake pedal over to the clutch pedal. a lot of different info floating around in other threads. moggy, i'm presuming this is a home job you did yourself... but on your clutch pedal it looks like you have another mounting point to mount another switch. be nice to know if in fact it is supposed to be electric like yours or a vac switch there instead.

yeah i think its supposed to be vac line to the clutch pedal. Im trying to find out what the go is so i can do it properly and it will resume the cruise when i release the clutch pedal so ill let u know wat i find out Mine is a home job, which confuses me a bit at the moment haha but wat can u do. It works thats the main thing

ok i had a play around with mine today just pulled the vac switch off the brake pedal and put it on the clutch pedal does wat its supposed to BUT it doesnt let all the vacum out straight away when the clutch pedal is pressed and the car builds revs for about 1 second b4 it drops back to idle if anyone knows whats going on could u let me know? Cheers

Ok. As per factory, a manual with cruise will have both electric and vac switches on the brake pedal, and an electric switch on the clutch pedal. The electric switch on the brake pedal has 2 sets of contacts, one for the brake lights, the other for cruise cancel, the clutch switch has just 1 contact for cruise cancel. I prefer my cruise setup to be able to switch gears with the cruise engaged and to achieve this i just swap the vac switch onto the clutch pedal (removing the electric switch from the clutch). Ideally you should use a 2nd vac switch for the clutch pedal leaving the original on the brake. Just Tee into the same vac line.

Hmm still having the problems with the vacum not bleeding off straight away when i put the clutch in. has anyone else had this problem? EDIT: just took a photo of the vac and electric switches on the brake pedal cause i took part of my dash out for easier access will upload it later if i have time, shows how mine is bridged, pretty simple really so might help some ppl

I just left mine on the brake pedal. Worked fine while I had cruise control in the car.

here is a pic of the switch on the brake pedal. u might be able to make out how it is bridged to the clutch pedal electric switch Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
