guy i have been wondering how much boost you guys are leaving the line at? I struggle to get 5psi before my car wants to spin the wheels. best 60ft has been a 2.01 with street tyres. I have a 3000stall i'm considering putting in a 3500 stall or transbrake what would be the better option?

Get your brakes bled properly, push your foot hard onto the brake pedal and use handbrake also if req'd, put on some slicks and see how you go. Ofcourse a transbrake is best option, but u will only benefit from it if you have slicks, because after releasing the transbrake button....Hold on Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah, last time I raced, brake pedal was to the floor, adjusted handbrake cable and used handbrake to hold car on line, was leaving the line with about 5-7psi, as long as youve got a few psi you should have fullboost a moment latr anyway. Definately invest in some slicks...funnily enough im selling some...Lol. And a transbrake will definately fix the problem but youre just going to break into wheelspin on street tyres unless they are like Street Slicks or something super grippy.

so what boost are you leaving the line at? and yes i have some slicks here just aint used them yet as i rarely spin off the line. I reckon the cam in my car is a bit too high for the stall. car seems to just take a second or 2 after i release the brake to boost right up.

I dont see a problem with the boost coming on quick after you release the brake pedal. The quicker the boost comes along, the better it is. If you have slicks, then why are you bothering with street tyres. I guess if you are keen to see what it will do on street tyres, then go for it. But you will be forever chasing your tail with wheelspin. I leave off the line with approx 10psi onboard and rising rapidly. At approx 10psi (mind you, it all happens so quick so I cant be fully sure) i release the transbrake and launch. I do a 1.50 sec 60 foot with DOT ET Mickey Thompsons.

Tuurbo, I managed a 1.7 60ft with no Transbrake, I have mates that have gone 1.6 on both MT E/T streets and G-Grid retreads using the handbrake technique.

Lol, thats terrible, what tyres? Back when mine was manual I was running 60fts around the 2.0 to 2.2 mark on street tyres. From memory VLTNitron has gone 1.7s with his manual as has Brad but they both used slicks and Nitron had 350rwkw...

that was with street tyres - 255's. I havent tried to slip the clutch against the hand brake or anything - thats just from g/b in 1st and clutch in to going for it...

Yeah you'll never be able to stall it up much with street tyres on. I think the best I've managed on crappy street tyres with a manual was a high 1.9. I've run a 1.566 on slicks with the manual and 242rwkw. As the others have said a transbrake will be useless unless you are on slicks. You'll be able to make a fair bit more boost though as it won't try and push the car foward and also turn the tyres.
