Guys I'm just curious lately it's been f n cold in the morning, and when i start the car up that horrible tick tick tick noise comes up. It goes away after a minutes drive and I can't exactly sit at home and let it warm up cause I will wake all the neighbours from the exhaust (lol) obviously all the oil is in the bottom of the sump and not getting to the lifters straight away, but can this do damage over time? Or maybe i should do an oil change and go for a thinner oil for winter and thicker for summer?

it definetly can help going to a thinner oil for winter and thick for summer. what is in it now?? how many K's it done? last oil change? and if the previus owner mistreated the oil change it will gum up lifter ports.can try some lifter free from sprints or something not sure if they actually work...

nah all internals fairly fresh. I changed the oil bout 3 months ago so prob due for another think i went for a 20w/40 choose an oil from when street commos when they tested all the oils. Not royal purple though to fu<ckin expensive!

try 15/40 in it or depending on how long it ticks for dont worry about it. HPR 15 is a good choice no thinner than 10/40 but even then thats fair thin if its a worn or 100+km engine
