hey guys this may be a stupid question but my car detonates at high revs i was wondering if upgrading my injectors would help the problem? i have had it timed differently a few times by my mechanic and it has detonated at high revs every time. cheers

Have you had it on the dyno? What mods have you made?

need to dyno it

just turnb the timing back a little, just cos some one set it doesnt mean its right.. jut loosen the nut and twist it towards the fire wall about 2-3 mm see how it goes, save yourself some money

how do u know its got anything to do with timming till you know the specs of the motor n boost

to test, could be as simple as timing and its free to check so why not? if he has paid ppl to do it they might set it right but whats to say right isnt actaully wrong for some reason?

Put it on the dyno, for maybe $200, you could save an expensive engine rebuild.

lol whats wrong with retarding it. it wont do any damage. if it goes away all sweet. if not, then think about paying a pro. LMAO geez

its supercharged running 4psi no real mods other than that just extractors and stuff. ok ill try that ez then ill get a dyno. so injectors is a waste of money at this time?

depends, but youll need a new ecu, just get them sonic washed and cleaned. they might be old..

but when i decide to run more boost i will need bigger injectors wont i? and do you meen ill need a new ecu for a dyno or like a vlt ecu now? cheers

he means if you run anything other than standard injectors you'll need an aftermarket ecu to control them i dont think injectors will be your problem if you're only running 4psi sounds like timing could be too far advance or afm adjustment out of whack

ok cheers mate. if i upgrade my injectors to turbo ones would a turbo ecu be fine to control them or not cos its supercharged?? now im mainly looking at thing's ill have to upgrade when i start running more boost.

im pretty sure you should be fine with turbo ecu and injectors but im not 100% sure as its supercharged but i cant see it being a problem.. with an adjustable fuel pressure reg should be good for 200rwkw or so

ok thanks mate.

mates got a supercharged na vl its got kooler but na injectors n ecu with adjustable reg on 10psi = 140rwkw n he rekoned afr where good but i didnt see the dyno sheet lol also i thought 140rwkw was pritty poor power for 10psi on a high comp motor.

yeah your right that does sound pretty poor. stocky said in the supercharger thread he got 131rwkw on stock management at 4psi? ill see what happens hopefully i make a bit more than that though.
