The old scanners dont work now as the police went digital. edit: theyre not illegal. Theyre only illegal for personal gain. So you'd only get in trouble if you're doing something illegal at the time. Uniden sell them.

http://www.gccomm.com.au/ try this place out. as 289 said cops have gone digital now but this joint might order the new scanners in for you. the uniden trunktracker3 that i have here still picks up some cop radio ambulance fire marine and aero but the funniest **** to listen to is the truckies on ucb. breaka breaka

ok the go is with the scanners u can have them and i guess listean to them but if u are robbing a bank and have a scaner in ur hand then your in trouble i got mine for d.ick smith but this was before they where didgy
