I have a vl bt1 and when i remove the oil cap it has alot of suction and every couple of days i check under the engine bay and the dip stick has come out a bit and oil has come out so now i have stopped even starting it up since i don't know what the proplem is also i car is running rich i think and i can't get the timing to line up properly and it sits to low in rpm

1. do you have a catch can, if so ide be looking at how its setup, sounds like your crankcase isnt breathing properly 2. if timing marks wont line up, check your cam timing

Pic of engine bay will help. And as Sleepy said, cam timing is out if you cant get marks on Crank Pulley to line up correctly....

Ah seems like you re getting boost into your sump pushing your dipstick out ! Change/replace (or even install) your PCV valve in the correct place you dont answer your pms do you mate, makes it difficult to keep things on hold for you, had to take it off hold, cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

excessive crankcase pressure, check your breathers. could also be due to excess blowby. your compression rings could be getting a bit worn out. what sort of boost are you running?

mike sorry about the fuse kit will get back to you on that ok i only run 10 psi max cause the car has a stock vl auto in it as the owner before me destroyed the auto i have been looking at the motor and the other onwer has done all the work but i was wondering they have put a different intake on but they hav cover one of the rocker cover holes up with a bolt it is the one that normally has the air intake from just after the air box would that be a proplem????

np re rail mate, just no black ones left, few green Dont need a catch can unless you are rallying and frequent on/off boost or doing hard cruise with a heavy load meaning above atmos most of the time. i also have auto and run 9psi now more or less and not needed the catch can but, yeah try and put things back to factory as starting point to save u time re diagnosis etc

yeah, you dont need a catch can, if you dont have one just plumb that breather back into the plenum.
