hey guys. i've got a vl turbo. it's converted from n/a. the motor is untouched and it still has the 9.0:1 compression. car will be on straight gas shortly. just gotta put it all on. i've got a high mount t3/4 and a 50mm external gate with a 16psi spring. i was just wondering if the motor would be able to handle 16psi if it's got a tune and running straight gas? i'll be using a gra t/b and a single b2. cheers.

I'm guessing that you would max out the single converter on lower then 16psi with a T3/4, I have a mate with the similar mods and made 241rwkw on 15psi. B2 generally are good for about 200rwKw (although some have made slightly more) If you run a good front mount intercooler and get it tuned well the NA motor should be fine (for a while ) if you dont go too nuts on boost. that's alot more power then i would expect to make. might run twin b2's if it's going to make around that sort of rwkw's. cheers.

it shouldn't detonate on boost being LPG. so that will help things

so 16psi should be right with it tuned if it's on straight gas? would i need to run twin convertors? or not? cheers.

No way in hell can you run 16psi with high comp and a single line/converter. I could run 11psi with a std turbo (high comp)and now only 8psi with a hi-flow. Is anyone in Albury going to be able to tune it or do you have to come down to Melbs?

I agree, you will need 2 B2's if you want to run that much boost and you'll be pushing the NA motor pretty hard (vlave springs, oil supply etc etc). If it's a daily just tune it to 200rwKw and wait till it pops. Then upgrade Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

hey. there's someone in wodonga that dyno tunes gas cars. was a daily but it's not anymore. got an old rolla for that now. ok then by the sounds of that i think i'll deffiantly run 2 b2's. i'll probably be getting a vl turbo motor soon anyway. so hopefully it'll last untill i get that cheers. I was also told that i a single b2 would only supply enough gas for 200rwkw roughly.. and i got my car dyno'd on 14psi on 33" tyres made 220rwkw and then on some smalled 31" tyres and made 262rwkw with all perfect A/F readings etc.. i mean the single B2 may not flow enough when ur holding full boost for 30secs or more it then would lean out and freeze i was told so i think.... Rick. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
