hi all, my mate is having a little trouble with his VLT. the car was driving perfect until it just stopped on idle one day, luckily was at home. Tried cranking and cranking but seems theres no fuel getting through. Pulled out the hose connecting to fuel rail and wacked it on reds but fuel doesnt spit out of the hose ??. The fuel pump fuse was meltled so we cut the wires from it and made a temporary fuse connection. Still didnt prime. So we gathered at the end the car isnt priming. Any suggestions such as electrical issues??? Thanks

my vl didnt prime,, but that was because i put a series one loom into my s2 vl. check the blue plugs under your glovebox and possibly get a test light and check if the fuel pump is actualy getting power .. if its geting power but not priming i think you have your answer hope that helps

i had a similar problem with my friends car it has rust around the windscreen the computer was getting wet, when we opened it there was lots of corrosion after swapping it for another ecu it primed and fired up fine. also try checking for power at the fuel pump as NOM4D said, could have bad connections.

Best to check voltages at the actual pump, case of getting on ones back behind right rear wheel but in front of fuel tank etc. Also take off left hand passenger kick panel - in front of door seal and expose ECU (dont worry its in a box) and check the connector. If your pumps are normally quiet then to check they are getting power by feel then have one person lie under rear wheel with hand on pump and your friend switch on ignition but dont try to crank. The pump should run for a few secs then go off. Turn back to off with keywswitch, wait 15 secs, then repeat. There is also a relay that controls fuel pump(s) in the fusebox in front of passenger in engine bay under the black cover (if you have one),
