I am picking up some new Shocks and Strut tops tomorrow (already have the springs here). I would like to get them in and setup before Sundays C4C. I have a Wheel alignment booked for Saturday arvo - so would like some help on Saturday morning (or Friday night) to get this done quickly. I have spring compressors, ball joint seperator, and an air compressor with tools - so the job should be fairly easy going - but as i've never done it would prefer if one of you lovely brissy boys could help me out. Booze can be supplied if required. --Mark InsaneVL

Once both of mine were out i did them both myself in about 20 mins or so for each of them (I Think) Never touched a strut/shock/spring assembly b4 lol so it cant be to hard, Will need an extra set of hands though, makes it alot easier. I used a rattle gun on the spring compressors which u were probably gunna do anyway but if not do it, makes it alot quicker haha Best of luck EDIT: That was just replacing the springs and shocks, so not sure how much longer the strut tops will take.

make sure you have decent ball joint separators, i tried it once without and even with a 120kg mate jumping on a crow bar they wouldnt give!

I have a ball joint seperator.. looks like a 2 pronged fork thingy. I also heard that you can take the lower control arm off instead of taking the ball joint off - is this easier? If you got all the tools (which i'm sure you have) i'll bring it on down osk. Got it booked in at 1pm for a wheel alignment. PM me your address and what time you want me to be there (i'm thinking 8 or 9am to make sure have enough time - gives us 3 - 4 hours in case of complications). Let me know what booze you like and i'll bring it with me. (Can bring along say a 6pack of JimBeam and Cola?)

Un-do the top nut in the strut before you jack the car up off the ground and unbolt the strut from the lower control arm... ball joints suck
