Hey guys, i was planing on rebuilding a full vl turbo motor from top to toe, by head, pistons, rods, etc etc. Is it just better of getting a N/A motor and ripping that apart and building it or buying a A8 motor and ripping that apart and rebuilding it? What do you guys think?

Doesnt matter if your rebuilding it as long as it has the water and oil lines. If you want originality go for one of the A8 blocks.

depends if you are going all after market parts then NA for sure, but if rebuilding to standard spec, then try a A8 cos it will have the turbo cam blah blah..

why not do the n/a and then sell the turbo engine to fund your rebuild

well it doesnt really matter because "s it just better of getting a N/A motor and ripping that apart and building it or buying a A8 motor and ripping that apart" there no rel difference A. the N/A motor will be cheaper B. Its not gonna matter becuase either one you buy will be turbo at end of it C. number on A8 motor isnt gonna match ya car so you really cant say original turbo motor out of the car. but its gonna both have 000kms and both b turbo

And D, more chance that the n/a block hasnt been rebuilt before and there fore has more room to move with rebuilds in the future.

logbooks will probably be the only place, also go the s2 n/a motor. nothin more annoyin then tearing a motor down to find its already been rebuilt
