hey ppl on my diff on the passenger side i have broken three studs it is a vl turbo diff with a mini spool i dont think it was the mini spool causing the problem but i did have the rear tires replaced the week before and where the nits sit in the rim it has been chewed away a bit so im thinkin it could have been loose nuts from the tyrer fitter and causing them too snap also the 2 studs that haddnt had snapped the nuts where half undone

sorry i was just hoping someone could shed some light on it for me maybe some main causes cause i just wanna rule out that the minispool didnt do it but i had a minispool in my last vl and never had a problem with breaking studs

did YOU do the wheel nuts up?

no the tire fitter did with his rattle gun

So the tyre fitter broke them ?? You shouldnt use a rattle gun to do up wheel nuts, I know everyone does but rattle guns were designed to remove nuts and bolts not install them

I'd be going back to the tyre fitter and letting them know....

a mini spool puts allot of strain on the rear axels and studs so it will be a combination of the tyre place and the mini spool. Soooooo much strain around the corners man. spools are not good on the street IMO

ive had this happen to me without a minispool, turns out the dodgey bob jane i had my tires changed threaded 2 studs which eventually snapped off so chances are the nuts werent going on too well and they thought just keep tightening...
