Ran my torana last sat nite. Ran 11.284 at 122.25mph 1.768 60ft 4.786 330ft 7.276 660ft 98.51mph 9.442 1000ft. pump fuel street tyres. it still has stock rods arp bolts. forged pistons, nissan head gasket. 21psi boost. 036 injectors which were maxed out lol 42psi base pressure. gt30/40 1.06 rear turbo just wondering if a gt45r turbo would be to harmful on standard rods. still would only be running 20psi. or would a gt40 be more suitable. would i notice much difference with either of these turbos.

You wouldnt get much from a GT45r on 20 pound. Probobly better off buying a Gt35/40 and using that on about 20+

i wouldnt waste my time with a gt3582r, sure itll make mor power but not a lot more for the cost of the turbo. your better off with a to4z or t51r in my opinion

Is there much of a difference in a gt45r to a T51r? should i expect more power even on 20psi? does the bigger turbo put more load on the rods is a to4z much smaller than a T51r?

t51r=1000hp t04z=700hp gt45=1200hp there is also gt4088r= 700hp gt4094=800hp

I think Ill be puting some spool rods in it before I go putting a bigger turbo an more stress on them.

Great effort mate and i wouldnt be to worried about going for aftermarket conrods just yet as some of these guys have ran 9 second time slips on stock rods and stock pistons so maybe do like leigh said and just fit the t51r turbo and it will get you a 10 second easily i would think.

I should get a fair increase in power with a t51r. although my injectors are maxed out now so possibly some 363's?

your right there is.. Ford rate theirs at 700hp with the .5 front, from what uve just said garrett rate them at 600hp with the .7 and the gt3582r was a ball bearing version of the GT35 with a .82 rear.. not the 1.06.

I thought the GT3540 with .82 rear was 650hp and the 1.06 was 700hp? Thats what I was told by ATS?

Thats what I was told by ATS? thats mis-information. here it is in black and white boys http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...R_714568_3.htm (http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT35/GT3582R_714568_3.htm) also if you find all this confusing as most do have a read of this page, it will make it easier to understand how they name the turbos http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...gt_basics.html (http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/tech_center/gt_basics.html)
