Ok so I got an VS and threw a system in and got MAJOR rattle. I pulled the door trim apart and filled it up with more foam than noodles in a Chinese soup. That stopped the annoying inside rattle but the boot still rattles hard. You cant hear it from the inside but I dont care I dont want to pass people with that rattle. What can I do to help with the boot, with the boot open theres no rattle so its the boot lid its self. Im thinking of taking the wing off but like I cant jus load it up with foam because well its going to be all in your face when you open the boot and want it looking respectable. Only thing I can think off its to get some boot lid carpet made that like comes out a little and to spray foam in-between it and at least that way you wont see it. Need some suggestions please!

it would be the standard commodore boot reo rattle get some spray foam from your local hardware shop or audio shop and spray it in the gaps and such between the rio and the boot skin i just did myne in the vl today works a treat. another thing if your garnish etc is rattling get some thick foam and jam it in all the crevices etc in your boot

reo is the support inside the boot.. the skin is the boot itself,, just pop the boot and look up lol id say the suport has come off the boot skin and when the sub is vibrating(as subs do) it will make the boot skin lift up and come back down ontop of the suport causing the rattle.

there is only one solution to completely kil the rattle mate. you have to completely strip the rear of your car (fuel tank out , Bumper off. Boot lid etc. etc.) attack everything that can move and anywhere that has a join including the reo with a silicone gun, wait till it's almost completely set then put it back together again. pain in the arse but mehh old cars arent designed for big systems. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
