Hi guys. as previous thread says i just bought a vlt. Tried for insurance yesterday. I went through the whole phone book and every company revused to insure my car for bomb. Im 20 have not the best driving record in the world. However shannons wouldn't insure me, neither just cars. Everyone said no. Are there any smaller companies out there that insure cars that arn't listed in the phone book

sorry to take over the thread but saves creating another one... i just brought a VS Senator and all insurance places have quoted me over 4k a year so ive decided so insurer it under my mums name.. To do this does the car need to be in my mums name or can the car be in my name and just the insurance under my mums name?

Have you tried just car? i registerd mine under my name and also had all the mods insured as well - they were very reasable with the price. I am 21 and have a spotless driving record and only 1 speeding fine thou. Agian, what they dont know - wont hurt them? GL with finding cover - as SHIZNT said, it might be better to get the car rego'ed under someone else? DamoVL Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

DamoVL nah, doesnt hurt them, only hurts you when you dont get paid out and find out after an accident your not insured Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

DamoVL haha... why bother paying for insurance then - cause theyre not going to pay once they find out you didnt disclose all of your history. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Word! Happened to a bloke I know...was Shannons aswell....he didnt diclose a speeding fine from years ago...he had his house broken into and the crooks found his car keys and took his car, stripped it and dumped it...he got the car back, minus Leather HSV interior, dash, wheels, bodykit......etc. If youre going to bother going to the expense of insuring it, do it legit and answer the questions honestly or youre just wasting youre money.

Yet, you were in another thread minutes ago saying how unlucky it would be and another one of your mates got away with cut springs and extreme bald tires....

Yeah, no sh1t, its two different things isnt it, one is declaring past convictions which everyone knows they check because its an easy out for them....and I didnt say he had cut springs I said it was on its ass.

and for some one to look at the tires and see canvas hanging out isnt an easy way out? they go to the effort of checking brake pads..

Fair to assume that it depends on the circumstance and how big the claim is....the bloke that got his car stolen had an agreed value with Shannons and they were up for a fair sum of money, my mate that crashed his VR was with one of the mainstream insurers and he was the only car involved in the accident and damage was only front guard and bonnet......anyhoo.
