Im lookin at running my car soon with some decent grippy tyres (like et streets etc) but the diff worries me a bit.
Car has run 111mph before in street trim, but only @ 2.0 60ft (****)..
anyone run that kind of mph (or making around 220rwkw) with 25 spline diff had no real dramas with slicks etc? or is the diff gonna no way cope with it?

it all depends on the diff, ive had mates pop them in standard n/a's, but i had one, doing limiter dumps on mickey thompsons with 270rwkw no worries
though that was diffy, he was special

I would probably be prepared to have a backup just in case.
A mates car runs 108mph from memory... its been loving life for about 2.5 years now and been raced around 50 passes and its a daily driver.
Some love it, some hate it, but after all they are only a 25 spliner and not known for thier strength.

yeah mine is a daily done about 20 passes probably and its had a pretty easy life.
never had any passes on slicks but. If i can 60ft in the 1.8's id be happy, just dont know if the diff will be

In my old vlt i ran a 25spline diff for around a year. I ran it at the track car was making only 220hp@rw. It lasted at the drags. Week later went over a speedhump lit it up and it went bang. So i guess they can hold some power however its a time bomb if you give them a hard time

lol my N/A dropped the bitch out the back in a hell of a hurry. They tend to not last, grab yourself a 28 and at least have some peace of mind.

How do the 10 bolt diff's compare to the 28 spliner's in terms of strength???

30-07-07, 20:31 GMT+10#10 10 bolts are out of VB-VK I believe and Im not sure how they go bolting up to a VL, I have been lead to believe that they dont. Personally a 28 spline diff is cheap just spend the time and find something. I picked up a full diff for 150 with a single spinner and 200 for an LSD. They are out there you jsut have to keep your eyes and ears open.
