Squeal from rear axle

I recently upgraded my rear brakes from drums to discs. I replaced the rear seals and bearing with disc brake type and now have a squeal from the RHR axle when turning right hand corners. I can also hear the disc (new) rubbing on the pads (new) and makes a sound like the disc is warped. I have pulled the axle back out and checked everything and noticed a few things. 1. There is about 1mm play in the axle when I pull on it when its all tight. 2. The bearing has about 2-3mm movement between the collar and the end of the axle. 3. The axle end plate is slightly curved and is not dead flat. Could any or a combination of these cause this problem? I am guessing yes but I want to know of anything else I can check first before I take the axle to a shop and get them to repress the bearing and replace the end plate. Thanks Nick

Its normal for the pads to contact the rotor. Are you sure it's not the handbrake shoes making the squeal and binding noises? As for the end plates, go get them machined to remove any runout.

Can your caliper freely move side to side or is it tight ?

I dont think it would be the handbrake shoes as I didnt adjust the handbrake up ultra close when I put it all on. I will check the caliper and make sure its all ok but I rebuilt them befor I put them on so and I dont think that would make the squeal noise only the rubbing

I cleaned it all up, sprayed it, put new disc brake seals/bearings in it and noticed on the drivers side?? there is 1mm play when I pull on the axle. The other side is fine. I'd really hate to put the diff in to find it leaking out that side or making some squeeling noise. EDIT - Had a quick read of this thread and found some points to look for. http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showth...e+conver sion (http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=22063&highlight=disc+brake+conversion)
