I was just wondering why some people hate Skylines? I was telling my father & brother that I was looking at an R33 & R34 Skyline today and I got a reaction I didn't expect , from other people , I got comments such as "stick with a Commodore" or " A Skyline is a girls car". Regarding my brother & father , I think it is because the local car market , as far as big cars are concerned are shrinking ,because of that there have been job cuts and also the fact John Howard wants to reduce import tariffs cars which means foreign cars are going to be cheaper , if he's re-elected. I think it is both because I'm buying an import car , albeit second hand and I think a Skyline stands out amongst the Commodores & falcons . I like Commodores , but for bang for buck and the fact I can't keep away from an RB engine , plus it's in a newer car than a VL makes it an attractive option , my VL is getting to the point to where the door hinges are nearly falling off on the drivers side (the pins have been replaced once before). I can buy a GTS-T for $15,000 which can easily be made to put out the same power as VY SS which costs $25,000 - $30,000. Basically, the VL is getting to the stage where it needs parts replaced on it , again , can't blame it because I've put 150,000 kms on it since I bought it (I bought it at 300,000kms, now has 450,000 on the odometer). I think people hate Skyline's because their probably the most common car on the road these days!

i think different, i see a lot more commodores than skylines.. its the wankers that "rice" them up that wreck the name i reckon.. i dont mind skylines jus not into all this ricer stuff..

Yeah , I have to agree with that , the guy in Newcastle (owns the Toyshop auto imports) had a nice standard R33 GTS-T , so I could say it hasn't been thrashed. He seems genuine because he was showing me and these other guys the damage done to an RB26 crank & block , a lot of GTR's come into this country and they're rooted , he was saying there was no such thing as a "cheap GTR" , particularly a heavily modified one which has done a bit of racing. Regarding the GTS-T , it was covered by a 3 year warranty so if anything stuffed up on it , despite it having 127,000 kms on the odometer. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I dont mind them but wouldnt buy one, alot of wankers drive them and cops know straight away what they are so they pick on them and also just gay rice stuff. every man and hes dog has one these days...someone says im gettin a skyline, I just say oh ok cool best skyline is r32 cos of rear wheel though

it's a skyline ffs not a civic with a kit, fluffy dice and a wing! imports, if you get a good one (which is hard to find) are much better bang for buck than their equivalent commodore or falcon. dont let other people influence what you buy though. really all personal preference. the warranty's dont cover that much from importers. See the issue with skylines is that MOST of them just have stickers and a 10" cannon and thats about it. Maybe a MONSTER wing to compensate for their small penis sizes. NOBODY respects them for this and they think they are the be all and end all on the street because of fast and furious. Endless tossers in the ricelines line me up on the bike and expect to be able to take me cos of that one seen in the FnF movie where he was sitting side by side with them. HELLO bike does 10 second 1/4's out of the box. Haha if you dont believe the above send "spike" a pm and ask him about the wanker in my street with an orange riceline with a 5" cannon and stickers. Yes tahts the only mods he has done and thinks his the ducks nuts.

i love skylines, i hate the way most people do them up... just because of the scene in Japan and movies like "the fast and the furious" some people think that they have to have carbon hoods, shopping lists on the doors, wings, cannons etc. its the same with any model of car... though hatred for the Skyline in Aus. started way before that, for those old enough to remember, Skylines were hated for their domination of the ATCC & Bathurst in the early 90's... Jim Richards & Mark Skaife were probably the most hated drivers of that era... probably still are :P

I've always wondered the same thing. My friend was thinkin of getin a new car so i told him "get an R33 or R34 skyline", then he just laughed his a$$ off HE reckons it's a P-plater car, meant to be only for kids!, Same as WRX'S and so forth! WTF, i don't reckon. R34's are still pretty expensive (i think for a mint one), wouldn't think too many p-platers would own them, unless they're in major debt or it's Daddy's car. I agree with the above comments, it's upto personal preference. If u feel strongly about one, get one. Just don't rice it up too much Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Ah Skylines. I don't hate them, but the boy racerness that surrounds them, doesn't interest me. That and the way they are compared to Commodores and Falcons. I seriously think most Skyline owners get atleast a 3 inch penis erection on their head, everytime they brag how much better their cars are. Yeah they're fast, and better built then Holdens/Fords, but I would rather a Supra. R31s on the other hand are a different story. They don't have the same boy racerness. IMO they are very underrated. Atleast R31 owners don't seem to have their head stuck up their ass. Although some of them are still bitter that the VL got the RB30ET. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Some complain it gets too cold in the back seat because it doesn't have the venting for the heater like the newer cars (F**kin' wusses) so he doesn't come to work with me anymore, I s'pose it doesn't have the creature comforts like a later model Commodore , some people are too status conscious to have a ride in a humble VL . I know an apprentice I work with likes it's sound and thinks the paintwork on it is good for a home job and loves its sound , it gets noticed for some reason ?
