The knocking will probably be your shocks bottoming out. You need coilovers front and rear to go lower. Cost will be $2500-$4000 to do it properly with good gear In the last week you’re putting in a 6sp, straight cut timing gears, lowering it more, buying 19s, as well as selling the Clubby, and wanting to buy a VLT. Make up your mind!

well buying the vl turbo aint for me.im not going all out on coil overs when i done need to.just want to go the next lowest in the rear that i can.how does the front bottom out when its stock thoe? so in the end a set of 19s is what $2000+lowering around $700 cause ill do all the work+timing gear $390 thats what a total of $3000. ive got 7000 to spend so why not do all this?and as for selling the clubby i havent added these mods yet so theres no harm if i get 19s and keep them and the suspension work would help sell it more.

Compressing springs is a crap option, but if that's what you want then go for it... why not just cut them?

If you cut a spring you wreck it, as it is progressively wound, you dont lose the original springs purpose made shape/thickness if its compressed. I have compressed springs in my SS and the rides good.

If you compress or cut a spring you make it shorter. Shorter = sloppy fit and not legal in most places. If you go to the bother of getting shocks shortened and getting springs compressed you might as well get it all done properly. ie adjustable platforms I don't know of any manufacturers who compress springs for their sports models, or any race cars that use compressed springs
