gday guys, what lengths of wiring did you use for your installs?
i was told 5m from h/u to the boot. so pretty much 10m of speaker wire for the fronts, maybe 2m for the rears
5m remote wire and another 1m for connecting o a second amplifier.
then 5m for the power wire inside the car, maybe 2m for the battery to interior, then i am thinking 2m for the earth.
does this sound right guys??
also 3 sets of 5m rca cables, (fronts, rears, sub)

Sounds pretty spot on mate.
Just remember, too much is always better than not enough! Because you can cut it short if too long.
I presume you're running them all off RCA's and your head unit has three RCA outputs. Some amps can use the piggy back effect, connecting one to the next (means less RCA wiring). Probably going to need some RCA splitters (one female to two male, if you're running 4 channel gear)
Other than that, sounds good.
Also remember to wire the signal wire away from the power wires etc for the amp, that way the signal is clearer (means putting it down the other side of your car, etc, but worth it).
What setup do you have?

i got a thumbs up from the audio install guy and the only thing i neded a bit more of really was speaker wire.
my setup is
mb quartz front splits 6.5" in vs dorpods and tweeter in stock 4" position
mb quartz rear co-ax's 6"
clarion h/u top of line 2007 slide face
pioneer 4ch amplifier max 300w
mtx 250w mono
mtx 45series 12" in sledgehammer box (200wrms)
its all in except for the crossovers and mid for the front, (because the doorskins are still off)
also had teh parcel shelf and seatbacking painted in bitumen paint plus the bootfloor
new carpet underlay
lightning audio wiring
and i did the install myself
the h/u has 3 pre outs, (1 dedicated sub out)
i didnt cross the power except for one spot, (drivers side speaker i didnt want to, the wires are seperated by a layer of insulation and i coated the wires in bitumen painty. i hope that will help.
amps are installed in the parcelshelf (which was an absolute pain in the A) i'll get pics and a write up when i am all done!
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

hey man its easy,
1.you place the doorpods over your doorskin (make sure the door will close with them in position)
2. mark where the pods will sit, then cut some mdf spacers (i had 3x 15mm spacers) to hold your woofer. make sure that the spacers will fit inside the doorpod.
3. screw the spacers together to make 1 big sopacer
4 place spacer on the doorskin (which should already be removed) make sure the spacers are in the right position for the pod (the pod will still line up when placed over the spacers)
5. trace inside the spacers and cut the doorskin to fit the magnet of your speaker
6. fit doorskin and repeat step 5 but on the doorframe (i didn't have a hole pre - cut in my door)
7. do all of your wiring, sort out where the crossover will sit, secure pod and speaker to the doorskin, fit the doorskin to the doorthen finish it all of by screwing on the pod cover
hows that sound?? make sense??

yes and no, easier than making custom pods,
and wy better than no pods and just in the door (window doesnt wind down all the way, looks tacky etc)
