Has anyone put a 1jz or 2jz into a vl? If so what's involved and how did it turn out?
These motors are really strong and i think they'd go well in a VL.
Anyone make conversion kits?
2J man.. should read up on supra/soarer forums..
2J can withstand much more power.. they have a much better internal engine design compared to the RB26DETT motors...
Only thing letting down both motors is the fact that they have cermic turbo's..
Better off to top mount a single.. 400rwkw with a 2JZ according high performance imports on a stock bottom end.. pretty insane
u get the same power out of a standard RB26 When GTR-700 was first in the build cv had over 400 kw @ all fours standard engine reving to 9000 rpm... this is of course when it was in its street setup.
the rapper on the side is Nas - Nos... hahaha funny pic...
Im pretty sure when you do the swap, you HAVE to go single snail because the two dumps from the stock snails wont clear the brake master cylinder.
spend the money on your rb30. The cost of the conversion alone will get you a stout motor. Cant beat the bang for your buck you get with the nissan straight six.

cost vs power the 2J wipes the floor with the 30/26 and best of all its a STOCK motor so parts dont cost you an arm and a leg.
do you want to have it auto or manual? manual box on a 2jsz is expenseive you can use a 1jz box but they dot hold as much power. if you want auto go by an aristo 2jz halfcut they are around 3500 which is a great price. if you want manual go the 1jz both are great engines

i SEVERLY doubt it'd last....
whereas the...........
i wish i hadve done a 2JZ conversion instead of what im doing now, if i hadve known how much i'd have fk'd up and spent i wouldve been able to have a fk'n "go-er" of a 2JZ-VLCT..... and still have some change left over!!!
i have no idea when my 26/30 will be done... all this to handle the power a stock 2jz (and to some extent) and 1jz could do with standard lol
