The ball joint on the lower control arm that sits just below the bottom of the strut is ****ed on my VL and its causing it to steer itself.
my question is are VL and VH lower control arms and ball joints the same. because i have a VH lower control arm i can have for free.
or if not whats it likely to cost to replace the ball joint.

Im pretty sure they are the same mate, change ASAP !
ball joint itself is about 30bux, hardest part is getting the balljoint and control arm off the car! if your mechanically minded then try if not dont bother. Could end up costing $50 labour? If you have the control arms out you might as well replace the inner control arm bush as well, its all piece of mind.
They need to be pressed in with a press so your gonna have to get someone to do it regardless, if I were you id get both Left hand and right hand ball joints and inner bushes done for piece of mind. And i wouldnt be driving it if i were you!

yeah they are the same... VB-VP I think.
Your going to need to seperate the strut from the control arm which is hard work. So Just unbolt the lower control arm and the strut as one and take it to a workshop and have them seperate the two and swap the control arms over and fit them back to your car.
