I have a VS Berlina s2 with all the bells and wistles, now I decided the old eurovox 10 stack was some what crap and decided to put a new sony cd player in its place. Now I have it all in along with 2 12 inch subs BUT the bloody car wont start!!!! it seems the origanal stereo is hooked up to the imoblizer some how.... any ideas how to by pass this so I can start my car and get to work in the morning?????? Disregard, after leaving the battery disconected for the past hour, the car starst again. Buggerd if I know.............

Leaving the battery out may have reset the ecu, which may have set the immobilizer to OFF status, Altho i dont know how the VS ecu goes with the imboziler cause just disconnecting a battery sounds very dodgy to get it to turn off.

buggerd If I know, I frigged aroung for about an hour to get it to start. I disconected the battery before surfing for a fix, after posting here I re connected the battery and it fired up. strange eh.

your bcm is roo*ed. when you disconnect the battery it resets it hence it'll start. bcm stands for body control module and being over 10 years old its due for a replacement as the EEPROM will be loosing it's memory intermittently so when you put your key in to start it wont recognise the code from your keyhead and therefore not start . oh and the radio has it's own security code and isn't part of the system. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

why dont you just turn the reds on for like 20 minutes till that red flashing light turns off, once the red light stops flashing/turns off then that means the imoblizer has been deactivated then you can start your car. i had to do that in my vx calais when i had one.
