Hi, could anyone tell me if the gas research throttle body fits onto the standard N/A manifold without any clearance problems from either the bonnet or the rocker cover, I just had a look at mine and dont know if it will fit without drama, has anyone used the Gas research on this manifold, and what problems if any did you have and how did you sort it.
Thanks, Steve.

Speak to Lister Automotive in Geelong on 52413177 and ask for shaun. They are Gas Research dealers and will be able to tell you 100%. Check out the gas Research Website aswell. More than likely it will bolt on without any clearance issues.

You will need to file a few mm off the top of the rocker cover.
Some people use an adapter plate but you really don't need it.
Just use two bolts with small (allan key) heads, and make up a gasket with thick gasket paper.

I got a spacer plate made up that tilts the throttlebody up just enough to clear the rocker cover, but the thick gasket sounds like an easier idea.

Thanks for the lead, But seriously, Have you seen his workshop, Backyard doesn't even begin to describe what this guy's setup looks like, Gas research Doesn't have high standards if this guy has the geelong distributorship.
He described what to look for in the OHG x-1 convertors, the convertor the b2's are model'd after, he knew what the convertors were, but when I cracked it open to look, It was nothing like as described, and I opened both sides of the convertor, This Guy Seems to Know what he's on about when you talk to him, but he realy doesn't know. He Quoted me an Outrageous $2000 just to fit the system up, with me supplying all the parts including New flexi line, and on asking around a few local VL'ers in Geelong, I was told to steer clear of him, as One of their mates cars had "PROBLEMSSSSSSS", was their reply.
I apreciate the lead, But this is my experience and a reported experience from someone else who had their car fitted with gas research through him.
I will look elsewhere, other reputable fitters with gas research experience would be apreciated.
thanks, steve.

I got his contact details of their website. He was the only geelong distributer. There a shop in dandenong called swift automotive. They are very knowledgeable. I havent dealt with them but theyve got a few good mentions on this site.

GRA have an adapter that you can just bolt on but VL manifolds have a 56mm hole and GRA`s are 65mm so you need to grind this out to get the best performance.

11-07-07, 22:44 GMT+10#10 Hi, Yeah, I called GRA, Proffessional and courtious, NOT, I Have called them AT LEAST 5 TIMES and every time the receptionist tells me someone will call me back, I told the receptionist I was after a VL adapter and that no-one had called me back, BUT STILL NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, these guys are the worst freakin joke of a company I have had the mispleasure to deal with period. That and their Joke of a GRA workshop in geelong I went to. The Guy Had no freakin Idea, Had a workshop that looked messier than an Iraqui street after a carbomb has hit and was a ripoff artist to boot.
GRA IF YOU READ THIS because you bought the buisness out and have no Idea of customer service or the product you sell. You are the Biggest letdown of a company ive seen.

l had the first twin gas GRA car in Australia done by Steve and Lee the 2 guys that started GRA(V6 Developments).
if it wasn`t for me getting the GRA out there you, doing f**king shows for them, blowing can`ts on the street away and then showing that the car only runs on gas and helping with there ****ing training F**king nights l used to fill the classes up for them.
They where just tring to do taxi`s, that`s how l found out about them though a f**king taxi, then went down there, they didn`t have the twin adaptors yet,
The twin convertors the way they first did it, it didn`t work, it took them a few goes to get it right, and that was on my car, they got there EPA approval
using my car,
and now what f**king thanks do l get, if l ring the can`ts up, they f**k me around just like you
GRA IF you read this you know who l am, remember you shut up shop, you went broke, and l help you out, you took out another loan and my advice, but l know where things went wrong, l now had a 11 sec gas car and you wanted to use it, on shows and magazines, sure you can but because you have f**king charged me like a wounded bull, l said $2000 and you can do what ever you want with it, but no and you bleed about it too, it`s f**king called sponsorship you pack of dumb c**ts, advertising is tax deductable or you didn`t know that, the end of the day we would have been both happy but no, the end result l was going to Calder running 11`s and no-one knew that it was running on gas or that it had the GRA on it and this is about 1995-1997, where would your business be today if you had given me that 2 grand
sorry l had to get that off my chest l forgot to tell you that last night l found a guy on Ebay thats selling the same adaptors
Item number: 170129813823 they are $35 Buy it now, f**king GRA want $60-$70 and that was 3 years ago, now they would what $200-$300 maybe and $20 everytime you ring them
