atm i have a mini spooled diff and wanna change it to LSD. anyone know any where to get an LSD centre fitted and how much. places I tried wanted between 650 and 800 but I am wondering whether I should look at getting a Kaz or something a bit longer lasting? your thoughts?
If you want a Kaaz I can line you up with an excellent condition second hand 2-way with 3.9's for $3000 with absolutely bugger all kays on it (cost $3500 to setup brand new).
If you want something that won't wear out, spins twins all day everyday, and you can put up with a bit of a weird noise from the rear end, then go with a Lokka like mine for $599
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Where'd you get 3500 from? for a diff LOL!
$1500 for a brand new 2-way Kaaz LSD withe everything?! The centre alone sells for more than that!
*edit* $1710 in fact. And thats for the centre ALONE!

Add that up, plus bearings, seals, oil, gears, labour etc etc. It adds up pretty damn quick! I wouldn't scoff about the price of diffs mate. My setup was just shy of $2k and that was doing it on the cheap.
Easiest and cheapest way is to find an LSD from either a VLT, VN, VP etc live axle diff and have it rebuilt by a diff shop and have it tightened right up and put that in...
OR put a thread up for a swap... your complete spooled centre for a complete lsd centre
I was quoted $2200 for a 28 spline LSD 9" to suit VL mountings and brakes from Diff Central I think it was. Decided it wasnt worth it purely as the BW's are commonly known to handle high HP setups well, and didn't require engineering.
BW LSD's aren't too flash, and just about every good diff shop will tell you that. But its probably your best option price and driveability wise. Diff rebuilds are cheap, and they'll last much longer than 1-2 years between rebuilds if you don't flog the absolute f*ck out of it.
im looking at making up my own 9" setup eg tubes watts link etc etc, im going to be subjecting it to some decent rwkw's also, so if all works out i might make more of them if there is interest
the bw seems ok to me, its once you start doing too many nuts and clutching it out of T intersections that they wear.
in a straight line they can cope pretty well.
