Hey guys, Lately iv'e been seeing a few threads about guys crashing there cars, and people saying that you will definatly have an accident whilst on your P's ect. I was just interested to see the number of people who have/havn't had an accident. Iv'e been on my P's for 2 years and havn't had a stack (touch wood). Try not to turn it into a **** fight. And if mods feel this thread is pointless, and just going to cause crap ect close it asap! cheers

3 Minor's when I first started driving. 1st was low speed rubbernecking at a car in a car yard Cost $500 for their car in my VK Wagon. 2nd was minor cracked my front bar on my first of three VL's, no damage to his tow bar or ball 3rd 60k's aqua planed into a gutter on a corner. Again in my first VL. Didnt realise the insides of my front tyres were bald. FOR THE YOUNG ONES HERE ALWAYS GET A WHEEL ALIGNMENT WHEN YOU CHANGE TYRES. Almost wiped out my VX SS around a corner years ago before I got my current VLT. Apparently when your back right tyre has lower pressure than the rest it throws out the balance of your car lol. It also doesnt help when you turn traction control off too If you are lucky you will only have minor dings like these. Others are not so lucky and dont get a second chance. IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY AND GET A CHANCE DO AN ADVANCED DRIVING COURSE. I HAVENT HAD AN ACCIDENT SINCE I DID MINE AND IT HELPED ME REEL IN MY VX. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Ive been hit in one of dads work utes VS Commy ute, 6cyl: was going along at about 60 in the right hand lane, the road merged into 3 lanes (left, right and right turning lane) and the one i was in had no cars and the 2 either side of me were pretty packed and this bitch pulled out in front of me in a laser and i locked up trying to avoid her but just got her in the right rear with the front left of the ute, almost hit a truck trying to avoid her. Then she tried to blame it on me claiming she 'didnt see me so i must have been speeding' ford drivers i tell ya! Only other incident i had was in my VL, got a bit carried away in the wet and slid sideways into a gutter, bent the panhard rod support at the bak so the whole diff and everything was to the right by about 1-2cm. Was pretty bummed about it and pretty hard on myself as well about it but shes all good now. Just gotta get a dint in the side fixed. This one was down to driver error, i wouldnt say inexperience cause ive had my car sideways plenty of times, i just wasnt thinking at the time and yeh. Almost been on my P's for a year and they are the only crashes ive had, only one was my fault. I think apart from that i havent come close to a crash really..... Wow long story that one Quote: Originally Posted by Imtorqing IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY AND GET A CHANCE DO AN ADVANCED DRIVING COURSE. Wat can u tell me about it? Thanks Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah agree on the defensive driving thing, get heaps of practice, know the danger of bald tyres, know how not to lock your breaks and DON'T TAILGATE lol. i learned to drive in a paddock and i reckon thats the best way, you learn how to react when a car steps out or understeers, if i hadn't had that experience god knows where i'd be at the moment. i think country kids are lucky to have those kinds of opportunities.

Crashed Dad's old Mazda Lantis into the back of a Mitsu Chariot full of asians when I was on my L's Only minor though, tow bar hole through the front bumper. Haven't crashed any of my own cars yet, unless hitting gutters on 3 occasions counts? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I've only ever had 2 accidents in my 7 years on the road, both in my White / Silver Calais & in the last year and a half. Both were caused by the stupidity of other ****wits on the road and both at low speed .... sometimes it just happens Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i crashed my vlt 2 weeks after i finished spraying it, a couple of months after i got my p's, lost it going around a roundabout when it was raining and the trucks from the roadworks had dropped mud out the sides of their trucks and i couldnt see it on the road coz of the rain and spun out and the guy behind me smashed in to my car. and no i wasnt trying to skate or drift or anything. how much r these defensive driving courses worth?

I did a defensive driving course at eastern creek, it was the biggest waste of money ever, they just told me things that you should already know as a driver. Ive never crashed a car, but spun out a few times in my vl and vn in the wet, come very close on a few occasions, ive been lucky.

i've had two stacks. both front enders. 1st one was stopped at a set of lights, arrow to go right went green, it was 300metres from home, pulled from the right lane onto other side of road to overtake maybe 2 cars so i could get in the slip lane and make the lights to turn right - however, this lady was parked at the little row of shops on the left hand side, cars made a gap for her, and she came out onto the side of road i was on and i collected her. her car was written off - excess cost me 1200bux, and another 1300 to fix mine including paint. - 2.5k gone and what a pain in the ass. 2nd accident, coming from side street onto main road, was behind a car as approached the main road, i looked at traffic, assesed the situation, thought cool, plenty of space for me to go behind her, but the dumb bitch for some reason stopped - dont ask me why, there was really HEAPS of space. 1400, i paid her out for damage. 1100 including paint to repair my car. once again 2.5k gone and a pain in the bum. in amongst all this, heaps of close calls drifting and such. never hit anything. one time before my two accidents in my vl, went around a corner, comp locked, bit fast, rear end gutter hopped, left side hit in the rear, moved the diff over, right wheel was about 2inch more to the right than before it was. before that during hill runs, lost it once at about 100, shifter down to second too early while taking part in some spirited driving through the black spur. car span around, luck i didn't fall off the side of road. again that day same thing happened just spun it and rear had a few tiny marks from a barrier. damn im bored. see what you do to get outta exam study....

mmm i been in two, one in my first car, tryed to drift, ended up head first into a parked car after the car snapped on me, due to lack of exsprience and trying to push a **** box to hard. 2nd was parking work car, sideswided the passenger door on the tray of the ute i missjudged/didnt see. other lil minor ones, looped the car at round about, bent the left rim on the center of the round about(backwards), gutter rashed rim after getting ass out up hill, then came to the crest, and aquaplaned for about 20meters ass just wouldnt come back in, and slid the insdie wheel to the gutter, just nipped it.

ive had two and im still on my l's. both of which i blame my supervising driver for... but thats what u get for listening to women... cant call them serious, they were minor for the other guys coz theyr cars were fine, but costly for me coz vl's are made of plastic and like to break and snap useless crap. ahh well, its nothing that money and a panel beater cant fix...so life goes on.
