Thought I'd congratulate Tony Agius from NQ and let everyone know that on the weekend his RB30 single cammer went 9.97@133.6 MPH.
The full weight exec runs a trimatic and standard diff, GT35 turbo package and ran the pass on 28x9" tyres and C16 with the pipes dropped. Still, amazingly, the car was on only 23psi of boost, and the townsville track couldn't be considered the best in the world, however that didn't stop him laying down an insane(for a vl) 1.37 60FT!!!!! Goals are now to try for australia's fastest GT35 pass, which I think is VLGMH at 9.68 or something?? With 10 or so PSI of headroom, should have a red hot crack at it!!
Oh, and mark, you'll be happy to know its got stock rods lol. For those here without big budgets, Tony built the engine and gearbox himself at home, and its a low budget affair, with stock valves, crank and rods, cheap forged pistons and some minor bolt ons. And for a carby backgroud V8 roots type of guy, he certainly has embraced technology, and does a lot of the tuning himself with minor adjustments made with a motec WB air fuel meter
Sorry for the rambe, just think he deserve credit for doing an awesome job, congrats mate!!
Cheers....................6BOOST

A very big well done to tony and all that were involved. That's a great achievement and something to be proud of. Can't wait to see this thing with a little more boost in the near future....... Sounds like you have another happy customer kyle

Although my little rolla has run a 1.34, I'd be happy with any car running that!!! SOmething that is definately in tony's favour is he is a long time drag racer, and he has a super sedan VH commo with a 355 or 383 or something that runs 9.89 I think, he won super sedan at last years winters. But he reckons its got normal front shocks and just a set of old springs in the rear. Buggered if I know how he did it, but a 1.37 would drop that time of yours into the 9.5's Sweeeeeet

Haha, forgot to mention he ran 3x 10.4's on 21psi with his son in the passenger seat

Thanks guys for the support. Just to clarify a few things, the car ran 10.2 with my son in the passenger seat having the ride of his life as a first time passenger down the drag strip. He wasn't there just for the ride but was recording the air fuels and boost so we could do some final adjustments after the initial tuning in the shed on the transbrake.
Next time this car comes out it will be race ready with all safety gear fitted.
I will send some pics later.
To anyone who is serious about building up a vl, I recommend you see kyle at 6boost. His packages are the real thing and he does not hesitate to give out good advice.
