Just wondering why a GasResearch would considered different to any other LPG system for the purposes of the government rebate?

Yeah, fair call. But considering that you get the $2000 whether your installation costs 50c or $5000, I don't think it would be an issue.

Yes you do get a $2000.00 rebate on any gas system install, even if the invoice states it costed $1000.00 you will still get $2000.00 back so a profit of $1000.00.

You go to a gas fitter, fit the gas system, get cert, send off to the government and get your $2000 a week or so later

has to be regd first tho haha Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

You dont send it to the government, you go to ur nearest medicare centre or centerlink and apply for it there. Must have rego papers and reciept saying paid in full.

thats ****ed if you need the gas to get ur car regd... wonder if theres anyway round it

Make the gas fit the last thing you do, pay the guy that does the fit all but a nominal amount eg a dollar, go back after the rego is done, pay the dollar to complete the transaction and get your receipt on the day that you pay the balance of the invoice. Simple.

any 1 have an idea on roughly how much $$$ it would cost to get your car converted to gas just a simple setup? and any places that could do it in the northern suburbs?

dont worry, youll be very lucky if you dont have to pay EXTRA on top of the $2000 grant to get it installed. though if you drive a lot, its a no brainer really.. if u spend $50 a week on petrol your bill will be halved so saving $25 a week x 52 is over $1200, doesnt take long to pay itself off and imo gas cars will have better resale.
