Hey guys, Done a rather comprenhensive search of this forum and located a few threads of intrest, However i have a few things i would like to clarify... Okay So heres the issue: - When i first start my car in the morning, It ticks for about 5 seconds.. Now from the other threads i have located, it could possible be then lifters. - These threads explained everyting from Changing the lifters to simply using a lighter weight oil... So my question is, If my ticking noise is only light, and only for around 5-10 seconds in the mornig, should i bother ripping my rocker cover off etc to change the lifters? - To be honest i cant be bothered. Plus ill Mess it up somehow! If some one lives close, there wleocme to come over and do it! LMAO (I'm a dj, not a mechanic) So what im wondering is should i try a Heavier oil? If so- i spose i should be doing a full flush and re-filling with the lighter/heavier oil?

its stops once the oil reaches the tiop of the head, maybe just change ur oil, use something a bit thinner, worked in my Mazda, but thats got 24 lifters, damn quad cam!

hey ben, when you do your next oil change, put some engine flush/cleaner in there and drive with it for a while, not sure how long, depends on the brand you use. that should help clean the lifters a bit and will reduce the noise, might even get rid if it? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

just remembered, theres some 'lifter cleaner' or something i saw at autobarn one day, cant remember wat its called but its where all 'octane boosters' and other additives and stuff is so maybe thats worth a try?

chill nothing wrong with it ben haha! might be due for an oil change and a bit of lifter free (as posted above me) added with it will make it sweet, its common!

That oil flush stuff is no good mate, all it does is take 20 years worth of crud and distribute it around the engine.
