ok need ur opinions, does this sound right?
a 1996 honda prelude VTI-R (2.2L v-tec engine)
no engine mods.
a 1995 vs commodore, 3.8L
only mods are pod filter and 2 1/2 inch exhaust system.
Prelude winning 2 out of 3 drags over quarter mile.
is there something wrong with my car or are preludes just rockets?
thanks nathan

Nothing wrong with your car, the V6 just wasnt made to go fast like the H22A.

neither cars are rockets... 3.8 V6 is just a highway cruiser, never meant to be a fast car

That sounds about right. The prelude v tec engine is more advanced then your v6.
V6's are torquey but like said above they aren't fast man, its a family car, just like vls.
The prelude was built from the factory as a sports car and is newer, more advanced and lighter, as can be seen by the outcome of your drags.
My dads 2tonne ford territory awd keeps up with v6 vn vp vr vs commys all day long, and its a slug. the combination of 192kw, 6speed auto, and DIVCT does this.

wait until you are licensed to drive a car with forced induction or buy a factory V8 commodore which is P plate legal... dont waste your time with the V6... just drive it, put a stereo in it or something...

ok thanks mate, does anybody actually kno what the laws are, and how to get exemptions?

exemptions from what i know are if youre the only one in the family with a license to drive... im sure there would be a printout you could get of vehicles you are able to drive... im pretty sure you could drive a VS SS on these restrictions... anyone able to clarify?

13-05-07, 16:05 GMT+10#11 I wouldn't worry too much about it mate. As said before, a VS 3.8L isn't a fast car in stock form, just like every Commo 6.

15-05-07, 10:31 GMT+10#13 you have to watch the VTir preludes and civics, with just a little work they will get up and boogie. even in stock form i would say because of their weight they would have a VN V6 all day everyday

15-05-07, 10:50 GMT+10#14 on a strip maybe, surely u were winning on the take offs? there is no way a prelude has any form of strong launch.
