i have a vk berlina 202 on gas and petrol, it's always run on gas tho, and it has alot of trouble starting, and by cranking and cranking it eventually flattens the battery. occasionally it does start, but it's very inconsistant and makes the car very unreliable as a consequence. it push starts really easily which is weird. the battery and altenator are both new and fine. the coil seems fine because when it does get started, it runs fine and doesnt break down at all in the rev range. the lead from dizzy to coil is new. all 6 spark plugs are new. it has no problem cranking so it wouldnt be the starter motor. i did the timing on it and tuned the gas pretty well, so that's not an issue. any ideas? it's really pissing me off cos it runs well, it's just so unreliable tho, as it rarely starts. it's quite strange the way it's so easily push started aswell. let me know if u have any ideas on what it may be.

I dunno Robbo but you really should run it on Petrol every now and then mate, Not sure if it would affect this issue, but it couldnt hurt.

I know a few people that run gas and they all take time to kick over. Obviously a solution would be awesome but untill then as long as you have a Decent battery it shouldnt go flat while you wait for it to kick over.

have tried running it on fuel the last few times and no difference, still wont crank over. the battery starts dying after probly 2-3 minutes of solid cranking....
