Saw a VL with a massive GT42 or 45 run these times tonight with wheelspin. Had a twincam head. Anyone know the car? Can't remember the colour, it was a dark colour possibly blue or purple.

It was out there the other night too. Dark blue over silver calais. Fist performance stick i think down each side. Didnt see the engine bay but other night it ran 10.9 @ 140+ spinning hard off the line. Was doing it on a true street tyre. Half track skids too Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

That might have been it. This time he had some more serious rubber. Isn't he going to get kicked out? It had no plates on it. Also, I don't think the officials would like him testing his transbrake in the staging lanes. Bloody fast car! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

If its the car I'm thinking of, its T76 powered on a stock stroke RB25 with some mountain of cash thrown at it. The guy called me about a manifold and no matter how hard I treid to give good advise, he just seemed to know better, and I presume went somewhere cheaper Either they must have fitted gas, or it took 20sec on the brake o get off the line, a 76 on a RB25 wouldn't be the most resposive setup Haha, Edit, just remember claims of 1000rwhp or something outlandish as well 6BOOST Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Well it sat their for ages on the line getting boost before it launched (I can't give much **** since I can't even get a good launch with a GT35). It didn't sound like a 25 though? The guy claimed to have a GT45, but could have been being a smart arse. I can't tell a GT45 from a GT42. Does a T76 have the extra surge slots like a GT43-45? 1000hp my arse, but it was a ***1ng big turbo though.

What happens with these cars? Do they just do one run and come back a month later and do it again?

Ah, different car to the one I'm thinking of, haven't seen that one before. The gold car your talking of was built locally in brisbane by a home tinkerer, runs stock exhaust manifold with external gate and GT35 turbo, stock turbo runners with box plenum, trimatic, and made about 470hp at the treads on C16. The reason they run a 10.2 with no cage was its from up north, and wanted to run the time on a good track, and had come down to pick it up from being built and tuned. As far as I know the car with now return up north to terrorise the streets with a 10.2 sec time slip to keep in the photo album for good Its amazing how far we've come in 5 years, 10 sec street cars are the norm, not the exception anymore. 6BOOST Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I missed that one. Would have been good to see it go. I like seeing home tinkerers do well with what some people may consider dodgy parts. Yep, with the knowledge and parts available these days it is relatively cheap and easy to run a 10. Even my ebay special is just a correctly sized converter and a decent set of tires away from running solid 10's and was just bodged up in the back shed, but I have to be difficult and tight and try to do it with the converter I have. (its like $650 for the right converter) Yep, after seeing the engine bay pic, 32ETA is definitely the car I saw. Can anyone confirm the engine and turbo? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Turbo looks to be either an Ebay TA45 or whatever they call it, or a trust turbo. While looking massive, the comp wheel only looks to be 68-70ish mm, housings are rather large though, wouldn't be surprised if its a little laggy. 6BOOST

While mph has some amount of effect to do with traction and 60 ft, its not THAT much, a full weight calais with 680rwhp through an auto should run about 148mph, runningh 133 I'd expect the best without wheelspin to be around 135-136. 6BOOST
