Hey All, I've had my V8 VL Dual fuel for about 5 months and had it serviced a couple of months ago and it has been running perfect on both petrol (shell v-power) and on gas ever since. I run it every now and again on petrol just in case I run out of gas. Car was running fine on gas on my way to work and when I went into the servo to fill the petrol tank up I decided to give it a run the rest of the way on petrol. Got to work flicked it over on to the gas so I would remember to drive it home on gas. When I went to drive home the car wouldn't idle properly and felt like it was going to stall and almost as if it was running out of gas but it has over 1/2 a tank. On petrol it still runs fine and doesnt miss a beat but now on gas its as rough as guts. Ant ideas? Cheers

Going to book it in with my mechanic and get him to sort it out. I'll just run it on petrol until then. car doesn't do many k's anyway so no real drama

lol yeah if it's backfiring depending on which end it's coming out of could mean a variety of things. generally speaking could be something as simple as if its a choke type then the calbe could be broken. best to see it on a mixture analyser and see what its reading

Got the car back this morning, problem solved. On petrol all was ok but when switched over on to gas the petrol wasn't shutting off so the car was dual fueling itself. It wasnt too happy running both fuels at once! Just lucky it didn't cause any more problems. Problem was a wiring fault in the gas switch.
