so my vl is misfireing i have tried most things...new fuel filter was my first thought, pulled my pulgs out checked em they are like new since they only got changed at 200,000kms and shes now on 209,000.
i unplugged my afm..... reved the car just a tiny little bit and she stalled...did it a second time same thing she stalled.... but when i just dump my foot on the gas she revs fine...i have to just slighty touch the gas and she stalls....so does this mean my afm is rooted??
vl.....missfiring.....sounds completly normal to me lol!
Nar, in all seriousness, when i unplug my afm and rev it a bit she stalls, so i dunno it may be gone or it may not, mine misfires too. sorry i couldnt help ya.
Need more info aye, how long since u changed ur leads?
ok yea well im not sure what you would call it.. like Benny01 said surging....
well when im driving on the odd and rare occaision that it has its spaz attack no matter how far i put my foot on the gas the engine will do nothing it will just keep rolling slowly forward as it would normally if you just left it in drive..
um plugs and leads were change 9,000kms ago at 200 thou.. they are fine i have replaced my fuel filter.... and i dont want to go wasting loads of money on new everything when its possible just a simple problem...
there have been a few people on here posting the same problem i pm'd quite a few asking if they had solved it....but no one replied....
2moro it is going down to my friends dyno and he is going to test it under load for me..free of charge and hes got a spare good working afm so we are going to change that over also...free of charge...yay!
i dont think it is my CAS bcuz when i bought the vl ...yay im second owner um it had just had a major service *200,000kms* new plugs new leads new dizzy and cas new filters alround and new oil...so i dont think the Cas would be playing up yet. i have pulled out plugs 1 ,2 and 3 they are stil like new...
oh btw i fixed my powersteering it just had air in the lines which was no prob at all.
i need this fixed asap i go for my P's test on thursday!!!!!
cheers guys

ok guys im back....
i got a brand spanking new afm in and it still does it....except i think the new afm made it worse....just cruising along nicely at 100kms and she will give a pop but rarely..so...what next?
cheers guys
Paul
Check your leads, look at your engine bay in the dark check that theres no arcs or any crap like that, and your CAS plug make sure it aint corroded, just clean every plug in the engine bay. HAve you checked ECU fault codes yet, half the time the ecu is better than us at diagnosing the problem.
I had a similar problem. Turned out the bearing in the dizzy was rooted. Was really stiff to turn and get stuck in spots when turning it by hand. If you can, pull a entire dizzy out of a working car and put it in for a test. See how you go. Oh, also if it is the bearing, good chance the cog the end might of got worn a bit (mine did) so would sometimes feel a miss in the car when crusing along. Nothing to major, but still annoying.
