Well this is a pretty annoying problem, I have an S2 VL Calais and when it rains or after I wash my car I get water coming into my car on the passanger side, it comes in at the very back left under the glove box. (if that makes sence) It started bout six months ago, but back then i noticed about one or two drops of water. Since it hadn't rained for a while I kind of forgot about it, then lately everytime it rains its getting pretty much undriveable because water comes in at a steady trickle, I have to pack the passanger side with towels, so my carpet doesn't get destroyed. I have no idea how the water is getting in, I took the glove box out, and ripped the carpet up to have a look but couldn't see where it could be coming from everything was just all wet, it doesn't seem like a good problem cause all the wiring under there was all wet and where the ecu sits was all filled with water. The only thing I took a stab at; was to take my left front wheel off, take the guard out and try sealing around all the bolts from the antenna motor etc and making sure they were all done up tight... Other than that i'm pretty lost as to where this water could be coming in??!? With winter coming its a problem I really need to get fixed, does anyone know what could be causing this or has it happened to anyone else??? Any help would be appreciated, cheers. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

You will have a hole under the front windscreen from rust $400 to repair or do it yourself for less but pay a windscreen guy to remove(you fix the rust) then have him replace it.

Im with trypsi...rust around the windscreen. Not always visible though without removing the screen for a closer inspection...but i would pretty much put money on rust being present.

Take the bung out of the passenger side foot well so as soon as teh water comes in it goes out the bung straight away and doesnt wreck ya carpet... My turbo berlina is the same, but has no rust at all which is unusual. It used to fill the floor wth a good inch or 2 of water...

Its probably a stoopid idea but take you carpet and dash out. Then get some food dye into some water like a bright colour yellow. Then pour that over the outside of your car. Then with a flash light , look inside your car to see where there yellow stained water is coming in.

I had the same problem, but mine was cause the windscreen guy didnt seal the windscreen properly, mine was leaking at the top and side and running down to the ECU, I pulled out all the black strips and filled it with silicon. But they usually do rust under the glass.

if ur car is insured. see if u get 1 free windscreen claim per year. if u do, take it into a crash shop, get them to replace the windscreen and clean up any rust thats in there.
