I am wanting to install a Water Temp Gauge to replace factory one. I am going to use an Autometer Electrical Gauge and I believe it comes with a 1/8" sender. I want to remove the factory temp sender and screw the new sender into the same spot. Does anyone know if the new sender will screw straight into the factory spot in the engine, or what size is the factory sender. Where do you guys/girls put the sender when installing aftermarket water temp gauges

you can put the sensor in your radiator pipe OR like you said in the origional sender position

I dont know about using the factory sender on Vl's.. But if you want to just install the gauge another way this may be just as easy You can buy a special thing at autobarn for the Water Temps.. Off memory for installation, You just cut the radiator hose.. Put in Autobarn divider.. Insert sensor screw it up.. Watch the gauge Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Cheers NTONIO, I have never seen a device like that. I would prefer to use the original sender position on the engine as this will give a very accurate spot for the reading, and saves cutting hoses etc. Anyone else have info on this query.
