hey guys for the past week my dash has been displaying the low coolant light on... so obviously i checked my coolant levels and they were all at the right levels and the coolant is brand new.. about 3 weeks old or about 50km's old! anyway i cant figure out y its on unless the dash is a bit faulty... but if that is the problem... are there any ideas on how i can fix it? its just abit embarrasing when i got my mates in the car with a warning light on.... if u know wot i mean... while we are talkin abou my dash cluster... the fuel gauge only works for about 95% of the time and the odometer and trip meter dont work... do i need a new dash cluster or shouldi just fix them? i can live with the fuel gauge but this coolant light an the odo/trip meter thing is really annoying! thanks for reading! it's on the left hand tank part way down, round connector from memory. only wire that'll be connected to the radiator

PS, i had my dash apart yesterday and now for some weird reason, its not sitting in its spot to firmly, if i just give it a tap, it pretty much pops out and the cruise control button comes out a bit.... so annoying!

Did you bleed the coolant properly?

yeah man! did that all well when i changed the coolant! even so, the car doesnt over heat and the temp gauge hardly goes past the 2nd line unless i thrash the car! lol

What happens is the plug/wire on the radiator level sensor can sometimes become a bit dodgy, when it goes to open circuit it alights the warning lamp. have someone wiggle the wire and see if the light goes on/off.

where abouts is the sensor wire? is it just one wire? or a few leading into a fusible link like the ones next to the radiator cap?

Its one wire, red from memory, On the Left Hand (Passengers side) radiator tank, just under the filler neck.

hhhmm i only got a single green one leading out of the radiator! and it looks like a pretty old wire! with a bit of coolant dried up on it!

thats probably it as there is only 1 wire coming out of the radiator, give it a freshen up and clean bth the plug and sensor and see how that goes. If your really desperate and just want to get rid of the light on the cluster all you have to do is earth the wire to the body of the car and the light will turn off. GL
