Hey Guys, was out tonight and needed to reverse out of a drive way, so i put the car in reverse but nothing happened, it was like it was still in park gear. Rear reverse lights dont work either. It worked like 4 minutes prior to this occuring, auto shifts fine in 1 2 3 also. Auto is a fully manualized 3 speed auto with a 3800 hi dominator stall. Any one come accross this? Have i totally F**KED my auto and need to rebuild it? Thanks ppl Xav

Could be because fluid is either too high or too low, Fluid could be burnt, Valves could be screwed around, but shouldnt really considering its full manual could be the shifter rod or cable, not pushing properly if reverse lights arnt lighting up its most likely that Is it trimatic ???

hey wilko16 , nah not a trimatic... how can i check the fluid levels?

use the dipstick i would say it's not a bad idea Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

suppose that would make sence haha, thought it might be diff fluid or somthing else. cheers mate.. any one else have ideas on what this might be?

nah dont think so. i was trying to roll down a drive way in nuteral and and thats what it did. i think ill take i somewhere, get it looked at

yeh, fluid was lowish, but looks like its an internal problem. Gotta have it pulled out and looked at. Thanks guys, taking it to a Mech on friday. Cheers for the info.

yeh, mobile mech came out on thursday, maybe rebuild, taking it in on this friday comming. probably a rebuild he thought, thats an easy $2000 for that.. damn! i got so much on my plate!

Yeh its already a jatco 3 speed, fully manualized, stage 3 shift with a 3800 stall. i think that will do me fine for now. Ill just get it rebuilt with new bits. get it shifting hard again!

what does it mean when it moves forward in neutral ?

forward clutch is holding on so that when u put it in reverse it tries to select 2 gears and doesnt move

really ? Yea im i bettter off just puttin in a New AUTO BOX. .

try topping up the trans fluid, start the car for about 10mins, switch it off let it cool, then start it and see if it works in reverse.... i should get a call today or tomorrow with some good news or bad news from my mechanic.. ill let you know what technically went wrong. Xave
