Hey to all the Vl Turbo drivers,
what do you all rather 5 speed or auto for a turbo vl?
i atm have a auto trans but i want to change it to 5speed but i hear people say stay with auto and put high stall and quick shift but then others say na do put 5speed cos they drift better,
just wanna hear what some of yous have to say and might help me make up my mind on weather to change it or not

lol who says they drift better thats funny, true but funny, manual is more of a challenge of a drive thats why i prefer manual more in sync with your car. but auto is faster and can be stronger .. upto you really, every one will just argue about it..

I believe auto especially if you got lots of power

Yeah personally with me it depends on how much power you're making... i'd go maximum 280rwkw for a manual... anything over that and i'd rather a manualised auto with nice stall and transbrake etc...

I think for a street car i would rather manual, but up to you!!

auto is better if you have a ****ing laggy turbo or spend more time on the strip than on the street but apart from that go manual unless you can't drive it!

02-04-07, 20:17 GMT+10#11 I own both, but it's upto the individual what you want and how you choose to drive. Personally i prefer a manual but the VL auto is great to drive as well unlike in some other model cars. As a daily driver i have a manual but it is one of the cars where an auto was not released.

02-04-07, 20:19 GMT+10#12 I converted my VLT auto to Manual, i wouldn't be putting out that much power but manuals are starting to reallllly grown on me..
i need a new box, And after driving both, im looking for a R33 box.

02-04-07, 20:28 GMT+10#14 manual is alot simpler as well, the stock gearbox is good for 350+rwkw and a 10 sec time slip, the stock auto gearbox is good for about 160rwkw and even then it doesn't last long half the time, that is why manual ones tend to fetch a higher price i guess

02-04-07, 20:56 GMT+10#16 hmmm yeah 350+rwkw through the stock box, i cant see that lasting for too long either. For a 10 second pass you have to shift so fast that it ***s the synchros and u have to ride the hell outa the clutch

02-04-07, 21:03 GMT+10#17 for me a VL is a cruiser.. not a daily so i prefer auto... especially when ur sitting in bumper to bumper traffic at 1am on chapel st. auto all the way.
